Powertec and Mikrotik partner to provide wireless solutions

Posted on

Powertec’s latest wireless products, designed by Mikrotik, are cost-effective devices ideal for both end-user applications and larger-scale installations.

MikroTik was founded in 1996 to develop routers and wireless ISP systems. MikroTik now provides hardware and software for Internet connectivity in most of the countries around the world.

Mikrotik Point-to-Point Bridge

The RBSXTsqG-5acD is a compact and lightweight outdoor 5Ghz 802.11ac wireless device with an integrated antenna, perfect for point-to-point links. The device includes one 10/100/1000 Mbit Ethernet port to fully utilize speeds that 802.11ac protocol provides.

Mikrotik’s Point-to-Point Bridge is perfect for short-range links up to 10km, where you need to network two buildings or points together wirelessly. This product can be used to provide internet to a shed, an IoT or security application.

Typically, you would use a cable to connect to a network together, however, occasionally you cannot run cable due to terrain or distance. Mikrotik Point-to-Point Bridge is a great solution to overcome challenging installations.

A bridge consists of two radios (one at each endpoint) to make the link. This link uses the 5GHz Wi-Fi band and can travel up to 10km. To operate effectively, the two radios require a clear line-of-site with each other.

Mikrotik Wireless Access Point

The Mikrotik Wireless Access Point (AP) is a very capable and powerful product that can be installed on both walls and ceilings. The concurrent dual-band wireless radio supports dual chain 2 GHz and 5 GHz in 802.11ac and legacy standards and provides 360-degree coverage.

This AP product is equipped with two Ethernet ports, allowing you to connect another device, to further extend your network. The second Ethernet port supports passive PoE output (up to 57 V), so it can power a wide variety of devices such as IP cameras.
