N

Installing a Surge Protector with N connectors begins with choosing an appropriate location for the device, preferably as close as possible to the equipment you aim to protect. Once a suitable location is identified, the surge protector is securely mounted on a wall or equipment rack.

Antenna cables are generally N Male to N Male, so the cable from the antenna is connected to one side of the surge protector using the N Female interface. Another coaxial cable is then connected from the equipment side of the surge protector to the device it is protecting. The equipment side of the surge protector is also typically N Female but N Male variants are also available.

The essential step is earthing, where an earth wire is attached to the grounding lug of the N Surge Protector and then connected to a suitable grounding point such as a dedicated earth bar, MEB, or a earth rod.
