Supply Chain Disrupted by COVID Outbreak

In an industry already facing its challenges with COVID outbreaks at origin and destination, the recent spike in cases being reported across Australia is having a significant impact.

With the rise in cases, we are seeing every corner of the labour-intensive industry feeling the effect, whether it be at the terminal, empty park, unpack facility, office, warehouse and transport. All facing new challenges with not one part of the supply chain unaffected.

With the number of truck drivers, terminal and yard operators, and office staff throughout the industry testing positive or being a close contact, we continue to see further constraints on available labour and subsequent final mile deliveries.

The well documented shortage of timber is also having an effect on importers abilities to source pallets, to unpack containers causing further delays and subsequent costs.
