Feedlot connectivity solutions

The installation was on a specialty feedlot on a remote property in regional northern NSW.

INSTALLATION CHALLENGES

The remoteness of the location in a regional area meant that there were not a lot of mobile tower options to service the property that had a clear line of sight.

 

THE ISSUE

There was poor signal across the farming property due to the remoteness of the location. The workers of the feedlot required a strong reliable signal to communicate on the job and importantly for their own health and safety.

THE PRODUCTS

THE SOLUTION

Utilising Powertec’s pre-sale support we identified that we could utilise the 25m high silo to enable a clear line of sight to a tower further away using a Blackhawk Narrowband Grid Antenna into Cel-Fi Go.
When it comes to long-range Telstra or Optus 4G internet, a high gain 700 MHz antenna is the best solution. Grid antennas provide high performance while remaining lightweight and incredibly easy to install.
