Challenges
The building was constructed from concrete and the roof was tin metal, both of which are not great for signal mobile strength. The side of Building two facing Building oneconsists of 4 roller doors which are always up, so the antenna will provide some but not ideal coverage. If needed, a separate system needs to be proposed for Building two in order to provide better coverage inside.
The Issue
The Ergon Energy offices in Rockhampton were suffering from poor mobile reception throughout the building; it was identified that an over-the-air repeater system would be necessary to improve the signal. The target coverage areas are the testing room, storage, and workshop. 1 x Telstra system with 3 indoor antennas and 1 outdoor antenna is proposed to boost the cellular network coverage.

Energy Queensland is a group of electricity distribution, retail, and energy services businesses 100% owned by the state of Queensland. They deliver electricity across Queensland through our ‘poles and wires’ businesses Energex and Ergon Energy Network.
Energy Queensland, formed in June 2016, energises Queensland communities from the Tweed River to Torres Strait and from Brisbane across to Birdsville.
Outcome
The client was satisfied with installing the In-Building Coverage solution and improving voice and data speeds for hospital users.
Product Solution
To improve the mobile signal distribution throughout the buildings an In-Building Coverage solution was
implemented. The outdoor panel antenna was added to provide coverage on Building 2 which runs parallel to Building 1 which is approximately 10 meters away.
