Case Study: Carisbrook Mechanic Outdoor Wireless Network
The customer was a local truck mechanic in Carisbrook, Victoria who was utilising a wireless network to perform diagnostics of commercial trucks. Taggart TV and Data Electrical were contracted to assist the customer with their outdoor wireless network.
Connectivity Issue
The mechanic specialises in the servicing of commercial trucks and uses his iPad in and around the workshop to assist with the diagnosis of the trucks. Unfortunately, the existing Wi-Fi was too weak for the outdoor wireless network.
The mechanic also wanted to install Wi-Fi cameras in and around the workshop as cabling was not possible.
The only requirement for the equipment was that it had to be durable, weather and dust-proof to handle the outdoor environment of the truck repair bay.
Connectivity Solution
The Ruijie RAP6262(G) WiFi 6 access point was used to create a local area network with a large coverage area with great speeds but also is dustproof & waterproof for the open shed application.
The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP6262(G) Wi-Fi 6 Outdoor Omnidirectional Access Point is a high-power outdoor omnidirectional dual-band access point that supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax making it an ideal choice for the outdoor network.
It can simultaneously work in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, support dual-band dual-stream MU-MIMO, and provide 2.4 GHz 574 Mbps and 5 GHz 1201 Mbps. The access point provides a maximum of 1775 Mbps access rate and is equipped with built-in omnidirectional high-gain antennas, which meet the coverage requirements.
Outcome
The mechanic now has full WiFi coverage throughout the shed, as well as up to 200m outside the shed enabling seamless use of the iPad & WiFi cameras now operating to keep the business secure.
