For the third time this year, Powertec’s IoT solutions have been recognised – with our most recent achievement as a finalist for the upcoming Australian IoT Awards. The 2019 Australian IoT Awards evening, hosted by IoT Hub, is a celebration of the increasingly connected world and the possibilities it creates for business, government and individuals.
The winners will be announced 18 June at the annual IoT festival at the Convention Centre in Melbourne.
Powertec has submitted a recent IoT project for the Best Primary Industry IoT Project category. The precision agriculture project involved deploying solutions across multiple demonstration farms owned by Carwoola Pastoral in Southern NSW.
The Powertec IoT solutions team deployed cellular internet, LoRa and Wi-Fi gateways across a 23 square kilometre property. This enabled connection to a multitude of sensors and monitors with no access to mains power and reliable internet. These gateways allowed the transfer of sensor and monitor data to the myinsight.io dashboard.
General Manager, Samantha Clifton is very excited at the success of the company’s IoT division.
“Our IoT team work tirelessly to deliver interoperability which currently does not exist in the market and are doing ground-breaking work in this area.”
“The fragmented industry is a barrier for IoT adoption in the agricultural markets. Our easy to use end-to-end solution means that users do not need to be experts in IoT. They can be experts at making decisions on the data collected.”
“Our deep understanding of connectivity allows the business to expand as needed to take advantage of improving technologies as they appear,” says Samantha.
IoT Hub is focused on the growing connectivity between software, the cloud, and the devices used in everyday business operations. Sharing trends and free news updates, IoT Hub keep the wider community connected to all things IoT related.
