Improvements in Powertec Telecommunications Domestic Freight Logistics!

Powertec’s freight system and costs have remained unchanged for over a decade despite freight and transport options changing significantly during this time. In a recent review of our systems, we have decided to upgrade our logistics function and to this end have introduced a new freight system.

As a result, our domestic freight prices and delivery times will start changing from this week. There will be increases as well as decreases depending on the size of your parcel and its destination.

Our priority is to continually improve and offer the most cost-effective means of freight options to our customers. Our staff will be available to assist on a one to one basis as the changes take place. As we transition to our new system we encourage you to provide feedback to orders@powertec.com.au.

We are continually reviewing our business to keep on top of the latest improvements in technologies, and 2020 is the year we concentrate on our Warehouse. The change to our freight system brings with it some great benefits like additional visibility on parcel delivery.

Our new system:

  • Will provide you with a notification at the time of dispatch providing ETA and tracking link
  • It is our intention to maintain existing delivery times as we transition to using Road Express as our primary delivery method, with air freight as our secondary option. This will provide improvements to our existing delivery times due to the recent flight reductions.
  • Price adjustments will be introduced as necessary and will be communicated
  • Management of delivery performance within the carrier network, ensuring on-time deliveries to our customers
  • Delivery enquiry management, updates on ETAs/delayed freight provided every two hours until resolved

Ordering via our website will save you time and money:

  • We will continue to absorb most of the postage cost increase if you order via our website. Website orders are more efficient, and we will pass on these savings to you.
  • 99% of web orders received by 2 pm AEST will receive same day dispatch turnaround. We welcome your order by email or phone, but web orders will take priority in terms of same day dispatch.
  • Orders via the website put you in charge to choose a delivery service to suit your schedule and budget – you will be able to choose air or road freight. Coming soon!
  • By ordering online; you will be able to take advantage of web-only sales and promotions, providing you with further savings.

Next steps:

For the remainder of the year, we will be working towards upgrading our Warehouse and stock management systems to introduce barcodes for better stock management and the elimination of pick and pack errors.
