Jim's Antennas Maroochydore
Jim’s Antennas Maroochydore was approached by a client needing a large outdoors Wi-Fi network to service his Wi-Fi security camera. Colin from Jim’s Antennas Maroochydore recently installed an outdoor Ruijie Reyee access point to improve the internet for a customer who works in a semi-industrial area.
THE PRODUCTS
The Ruijie Reyee Series RG-EAP602 is a high-power outdoor omnidirectional dual-band wireless access point supporting 802.11b/g/n/ac, which is designed for villages, villas, parks, scenic spots, plazas, etc. With concurrent 2.4GHz and 5GHz, the AP supports dual-band dual-stream MIMO technology, which can provide 300Mbps at 2.4GHz, 867Mbps at 5GHz, and up to 1167Mbps per AP. The built-in omnidirectional high-gain antennas provide excellent coverage for the users.
THE SOLUTION
Powertec was engaged to assist with the installation, recommending to use a Powertec Xpol MiMo antenna and the new Ruijie Reyee EAP602 outdoor AP that can provide up to 300m Wi-Fi coverage & be remotely managed/monitored using the FREE Ruijie Cloud service.
To improve the warehouse’s internet signal and strength, Colin set up a core signal from a 4G router fed by a Blackhawk Xpol MiMo antenna. The signal from the router was then picked up by the outdoor access points.
By the time Colin had finished the install, the router gave a 180Mbps download speed. This speed was recorded as far as 60 metres in 2 directions via the Reyee access points!
THE OUTCOME
Installing the new WiFi set-up improved the business’ WiFi strength and speed, as well as improved their security.
The Blackhawk Xpol MiMo Antenna delivered extremely fast internet speeds via the access points to the business’ WiFi cameras. Fast and stable internet is important for any IP camera system. A higher bitrate will also give you better resolution and more fluid footage.
After setting up the system, Colin showed his customers how to use the Ruijie Cloud App. This app can be used to monitor the access points and to ensure they are working at all times. With the touch of a button, reboots and updates can be remotely scheduled or performed instantly.
