Available for Telstra Next-G and 4GX networks, Optus, and Vodafone 3G/4G.
Powertec provide a full investigative study into weak mobile signal strength and slow mobile broadband speeds. This study is conducted using highly advanced radio modelling software to reverse engineer the mobile phone network and simulate the effect of terrain, obstructions, and the effect of neighbouring transmitters.
In addition to diagnosing weak signal strength at homes and businesses, this engineering study can be used to assist construction and mining clients by determining the best location on a given section of land to erect a site office or exploration camp. For our farming customers the survey can be used to locate a suitable hill in which to install a solar powered 3G/4G repeater to beam phone service into a valley or to an isolated building.
Powertec can provide the total solution. Our technical team can diagnose, design, and organise one of our trusted installation partners to build the system. Simply order the survey online and let us handle the rest.
If your site is a complicated office or building it will be helpful to share a floor plan – please send to [email protected] and include your contact details that match to your submission or upload here

This study is an analysis of 3G UMTS and 4G LTE transmissions in receivable range of a location identified by the client.
The analysis makes use of industry standard radio propagation software which uses computational models to calculate signal strength estimates based on transmitter heights, frequency, distance, terrain, interference, and numerous other factors. The software generates a three-dimensional heat map representing signal strength levels, colour coded from red (strong) to purple (weak), and areas with no colour representing those with no signal.
As the software only estimates signal strengths from each cell tower, the technician must then inspect the transmission path in identification of non-terrain obstructions such as buildings and vegetation that will further deteriorate signal levels. The technician will use a combination of theoretical estimates and practical understanding of radio propagation to account for these additional factors.
Recommendations are then made as to the most suitable antenna type, along with a compass or map bearing and an estimation on required installation height. Additional suggestions can be made regarding cabling and interconnections if the client has identified a particular device they wish to connector, or a general problem they wish to solve.
