In wireless technology systems, a Jumper Cable is an interconnection cable used to join components of a transmission system with flexibility that large diameter feeder cables can’t provide.
Jumpers can be thought of as a ‘medium size’ RF cable and are commonly found connecting feeder cables to service antennas in passive in-building coverage systems. Typically only a few metres in length, Jumper Cables can also be found interconnecting passive and active components such as sitting between the front end and antenna. In simpler systems jumper cables can be used to connect directly to an end user device in a manner similar to a patch cable.
Jumper cables are typically comprised of 1/4″, 3/8″, or 1/2″ corrugated cables. The wide variety of applications means that jumper cables manufactured from PTL-400, PTL-240, and even PTL-195 can be found.
